Carmen Suarez is Assistant Director, Services, Infrastructure and Public Markets at the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). Previously, Carmen was Head of Evaluation at the OFT, where she lead and coordinated the work of the Evaluation Team. She joined the OFT in 2008, as Assistant Director of Strategy, working on amongst other issues, framework advocacy, horizon scanning and ideas generation. Her previous career includes stints in academia and working as Chief Economist of the National Farmers’ Union of England and Wales.
Carmen holds a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Oviedo (Spain), an MA in European Economic Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium), and a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham (UK).
